Our client is a fast-growing global Finance Advisory business. The business oversees almost $2bn of annual revenue across its client portfolio, providing a broad range of services from bookkeeping and management accounting through to CFO advisory, fundraising, debt financing, M&A support, tax structuring and strategic growth planning.

 

About the Role

As an Assistant Accountant, you’ll join a growing finance team and play an important role in supporting the accounting requirements of a diverse client portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a hungry and ambitious finance professional who wants to develop their career within a modern, fast-paced advisory environment.

You’ll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities, working with clients across different sectors while developing your technical knowledge and commercial understanding.

 

Key Duties:

  • Supporting day-to-day accounting activities across a portfolio of clients
  • Processing accounts payable and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with VAT returns and related compliance requirements
  • Supporting payroll processing and associated administration
  • Assisting with month-end processes and management accounts
  • Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records using Xero
  • Liaising with clients and internal teams to resolve finance queries
  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc accounting requirements
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency

 

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience within an accounting or finance environment
  • Strong understanding of core accounting processes including AP, bank reconciliations, VAT and payroll
  • Experience using Xero is highly desirable
  • Strong IT skills and confidence learning new systems and technology
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Good communication skills with the confidence to work with clients and colleagues remotely
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proactive, ambitious and hungry to develop a career in finance
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a fully remote team
