Its VAT team has a strong focus on Financial Services, providing specialist consultancy and advisory support across a varied client portfolio. This opportunity would suit an experienced VAT professional looking to take greater ownership of client relationships, develop their technical expertise and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

The Role

• Manage a portfolio of clients, providing high-quality VAT advisory services.

• Respond to ad hoc VAT queries from clients and colleagues across the wider business.

• Conduct technical reviews, due diligence and other advisory assignments independently.

• Prepare VAT sections of due diligence reports and review advice and calculations produced by colleagues.

• Liaise with HMRC on queries and other relevant VAT matters.

• Support Partners and senior colleagues during client meetings and follow-up advisory work.

• Work closely with the wider Financial Services team to identify business development opportunities.

• Contribute to marketing initiatives, attend industry events and support meetings with prospective clients.

• Undertake occasional VAT compliance work where required.

Your Experience

• Strong technical VAT knowledge and relevant Financial Services sector experience.

• Experience delivering VAT advisory and consultancy services.

• Experience managing a client portfolio and working independently on technical assignments.

• Professional services experience and previous dealings with HMRC would be advantageous.

• A professional qualification is preferred.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex VAT matters clearly.

• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to reach sound conclusions and recommendations.

• A client-focused approach, with the ability to manage deadlines and work collaboratively.

• An interest in business development, networking and building long-term client relationships.

• Salary of £70,000–£90,000, plus a performance-related bonus.
