About the company

A well-established business in the Newtownabbey area is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its finance team on a 9-month maternity contract. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this is a varied and hands-on role offering excellent exposure across financial reporting, month-end, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.

This opportunity would suit either a Part-Qualified or Qualified Accountant looking to join a busy finance team and gain further experience within a large organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation and posting of monthly financial journals
• Completing month-end and year-end accounts for two group companies
• Budget, forecast and prior-year variance analysis
• Balance sheet, purchase ledger and GRNI reconciliations
• Preparation of accruals and foreign exchange calculations
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
• Preparation of statutory and regulatory submissions
• Supporting the annual external audit
• Involvement in wider finance projects

Requirements:

• Part-Qualified or Qualified Accountant
• Previous relevant finance experience
• Strong experience with monthly reconciliations
• Good Excel skills
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Microsoft Dynamics or Power BI experience would be advantageous
