About the Company:

HireIQ are delighted to be partnering with an established professional services firm to recruit an R&D Tax Manager to join their expanding tax team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced R&D Tax professional to take ownership of a varied client portfolio, lead a team and play a key role in the delivery and development of specialist tax services. The successful candidate will work closely with innovative businesses, helping them navigate the R&D tax relief process while ensuring claims are technically robust and compliant with relevant legislation.

 

About the Role:

• Managing a portfolio of clients throughout the full R&D tax claims process, from initial engagement through to submission

• Overseeing workflows and ensuring claims are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines

• Leading and managing a team, providing guidance, support and technical development

• Conducting client meetings and interviews to assess qualifying R&D activities and ensure claims meet the relevant criteria

• Advising clients on improving record-keeping processes and documentation to support their claims

• Managing HMRC enquiries and supporting clients through any challenges arising during the claims process

• Reviewing technical reports and ensuring all submissions meet the required quality and compliance standards

• Delivering client seminars and providing guidance on R&D tax relief developments and requirements

• Keeping up to date with relevant legislation, case law and changes to R&D tax incentives

• Supporting business development activities, identifying opportunities and strengthening existing client relationships

 

About you:

• Demonstrable experience within R&D tax relief

• Strong technical knowledge of relevant R&D tax legislation and case law

• Previous experience managing a portfolio of clients and overseeing claims from start to finish

• Experience managing, mentoring and developing junior team members

• Excellent report-writing and technical documentation skills

• Confident dealing directly with clients and presenting technical information

• Experience handling HMRC enquiries would be advantageous

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines

• Commercially minded with an interest in contributing to business development and the growth of the team
